Somos Inglés is our first project.   It is a video podcast for immigrants who speak Spanish, although all immigrants can use them.  English and Spanish have many commonalities, including sentence structure and of course, thousands of words.   You can't say that about other languages spoken in America.  Latinos have somewhat of an advantage in learning English.  Learning is part of understanding what those advantages are. 

In this project, we are presenting English learning podcasts with  Hispanohablantes in mind, although ALL IMMIGRANTS can use them.    The podcasts are created around real-life contexts--giving and asking for directions, basic greeting for everyday life and work, etc.   We will also do "correction" tips--things to avoid when mentally translating Spanish to English.
